Mesero is a modern Mexican restaurant built on Mexican spirit — the flavors, techniques, and soul that have endured for generations — and shaped by the way Americans actually live and eat today. We believe Mexican food in this country didn't evolve in isolation. It grew through experience: family tables, border histories, neighborhood restaurants, and a culture that values warmth, comfort, and gathering just as much as tradition.
That evolution gave rise to Tex-Mex — not as traditional Mexican cuisine, but as a distinctly American expression of Mexican spirit. Mesero respects that lineage. Queso meant to be shared. Fajitas are prepared with care. Enchiladas that satisfy without excess. Beef alongside corn and flour tortillas. Bold flavors that comfort without overwhelming. Nothing oversized. Nothing theatrical. Portions that are just right — generous, balanced, and intentional.

Fish and shellfish that emphasize balance, technique, and clarity — another expression of the same philosophy, and a reminder that Mexican spirit is broader, lighter, and more nuanced than it's often assumed to be.
Mesero reflects the full American table. Because American life doesn't live in a single category, and neither does the menu. Alongside tacos and enchiladas are burgers, steaks, salads, brunch plates, and cocktails built for conversation. A burger belongs at the same table as enchiladas. Brunch pairs well with Mexican flavors. Margaritas share space with martinis and old fashioneds — not as contradictions, but as an honest reflection of how people actually eat.

The Name
"Mesero" translates to "waiter" or "server." We chose the name intentionally. Service isn't a department — it's our identity. Hospitality is how everything begins and how everything is measured. We exist to serve, to welcome, and to make people feel at home the moment they sit down.

THE SPARK
Mesero began with a simple idea: build a restaurant grounded in hospitality, respect the roots of Tex-Mex, and give ourselves the freedom to evolve. The first location opened on McKinney Avenue in Dallas, originally named Mr. Mesero, setting the tone for a hospitality-first approach in which the experience mattered as much as the food.
2016
REFINING THE VISION
As the brand grew, so did the vision. As Mesero expanded to areas such as Prestonwood and Legacy West, the vision became clearer — not bigger, but sharper. The menu grew more balanced. The spaces more refined. The point of view more confident. What never changed was the focus on service, warmth, and food meant to be enjoyed together.
